RE: fridge clean out

P.S.
We purchased 3 or 4 of the little electronic pest repellants which we leave plugged in year around -- no rodents and very few bugs bother our rig.

RE: fridge clean out

I leave my frig on from the time I summerize it until I winterize it. I've done this with every RV I've had and have had no problems. An RV Tech. told me to do this and it will extend the life of the frig. So far, he's been right.

RE: Thermistor up or down???

I have an '02 Cougar with a Dometic refrig and I too moved the thermister up and down and it didn't do anything. The frig stays around 40 degrees.

RE: Battery question

Parallel -- positive to positive and negative to negative. Might want to use a sorta heavy gauge wire. The extra battery is very handy when dry camping for a few days.

RE: What kind of wheel chocks do you use???

We use the yellow ones from Camping World, but in the boondocks we still use firewood. Firewood doesn't look too pretty, but it is convenient, cheap, and in a pinch can be used for your campfire.......

In the bed -- driver's side in front of wheelwell so I can reach it when fiver is hooked up.

RE: gear replacement

If you have a 2 wd, I'd do it myself. Go to a salvage yard and get a third member from a wrecked truck with the 3.73 gears and do the swap yourself. Also get the correct speedo gear.

RE: asking how to reglue stickers

I too have a 2002 Cougar. When it was less than 1 year old, the decals started peeling. The dealer was able to get a couple of new ones and replace the peeled ones. Now as Hokie said, they can't get anything anywhere close now. I inquired at a couple of paint shops about painting the decals on, but received no positive response. I've just trimmed off the peeled part, but pretty soon I'll be way into the decal.

RE: Thinking on new removable hitch - suggestions ??

We have a fiver hitch hooked to 2 rails in the bed of the long box truck. When I'm not using the fiver, I take out the hitch and put in a rubber bed mat to cover the metal rails. Doesn't take long and works very well.

RE: Where to put generator

We have 2 Honda 2000s that we carry in a receiver hitch carrier. Our shore power cord is at the rear of our rig, so we can plug right into the generator that has the parallel hook up with a 30 amp plug in. Just takes a second to take the tarp off, pull the starting cord and have either 2000 or 4000 watts of power. Works pretty good and we chain the generators to the fiver bumper.

RE: connecting two small generators together

With the Honda 2000's, if you just need a little juice, you can run 1 generator in the ECO mode at a quiet idle and can get several hours out of a tank of gas. When you need more juice, you fire up the other generator and you have 4,000 watts of power.

Super Duty Chip

Hello! Has anyone put a "chip" on their 2005 F-350 Powerstroke? I am a little short on power pulling my fiver in the mountains above 8,000 feet. I've looked into different chips (Bully Dog, Edge, Banks, etc), but don't have any real world information on how much the chip would help. Any experiences would be appreciated.
